RTA Holds Workshop to Clarify Legal Procedures for Licensing Service Providers

Dubai,TNM: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) organised a workshop entitled “Legal Aspects for Licensing Service Providers”, which covered rights, obligations, responsibilities, legislation, and compliance requirements for customers visiting service centres to complete power of attorney, vehicle, and number plate transactions.

The virtual workshop was attended by 69 employees from various service centres, as well as staff from the Transaction Monitoring Section at the Licensing Agency.

Shehab Hamad Bu Shehab, Executive Director of Legal Affairs, emphasised RTA’s commitment to building legal awareness among staff across all sectors and familiarising them with the relevant legal provisions of Dubai Government’s human resources policies. He stressed the importance of professional and ethical conduct with customers, impartiality in client interactions, and delivering services that adhere to the highest standards and procedures.

He added: “The workshop addressed several key topics, including the employee’s personal responsibility for preserving the reputation of public office, government, and their department. It underlined the need to deliver high-quality services to both external and internal customers, and to strictly comply with applicable laws and regulations in Dubai. Participants were reminded of their duty to maintain confidentiality during and after service, to fulfil professional responsibilities, to execute delegated tasks effectively, and to adhere to role-appropriate ethics.”

Employees actively engaged with discussions on various types of legal and functional responsibilities—particularly in relation to seals, transaction safeguarding and archiving, and data entry. They commended the detailed guidance on the importance of completing transactions based on original documents—such as those issued by banks and insurance companies—and in line with government-issued No Objection Certificates; the workshop also covered power of attorney-related services involving categories, classifications, and signature verification.

The workshop further offered comprehensive guidance on key operational items, data entry and storage standards, rectifying invalid transactions, legal protection for employees in the course of duty, and adherence to internal circulars.
