Abdullah Al Ali: 350 Employees Dedicate 1,500 Volunteering Hours During Ramadan

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed the success of its Ramadan initiatives, which included 20 community projects benefiting 55,000 individuals during Ramadan 2025. These initiatives featured a range of events and activities with the participation of RTA employees and volunteers at multiple locations, including RTAheadquarters, metro stations, and marine transport stations. Through these efforts, RTA reaffirms its commitment to fostering a culture of giving, supporting sustainable social development, and further strengthening Dubai's position as a global model in charitable and volunteer work.

The initiatives aimed to reach various groups, including people of determination, orphans, delivery bike riders, truck drivers, public transport users, low-income families, and workers' accommodations, to instil the values of tolerance, cooperation, and teamwork upheld by the RTA. These initiatives were carried out in collaboration with the Dubai Police General Headquarters, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, Dubai Charity Association, Al Etihad Charity Foundation, Beit Al Khair Society, KEOLIS-MHI, Noon Food, Green Hands, and Ma’an.

Commenting on the events, Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, said: "RTA is committed to reinforcing its pioneering role in supporting meaningful community initiatives that reflect the vision of our leaders to enhance social cohesion and foster the values of giving and humanitarian work. This year's initiatives align with the 'Year of Community,' where we focused on providing tangible, widespread support to the most vulnerable groups, while also encouraging a culture of volunteering and promoting social responsibility."

Al Ali added: "We are focused on evaluating RTA’s social activities, analysing the level of engagement, and tracking the number of beneficiaries, volunteers, and volunteer hours to measure the impact achieved. We aim to develop initiatives that contribute to building a more cohesive and united community through sustainable projects that make a tangible, positive difference in people's lives."

"According to statistics, over 30,000 individuals benefited from the Iftar Meal project, organised in collaboration with the Dubai Charity Association. Meanwhile, 15,500 people benefited from the Meals On Wheels initiative, which targeted bus drivers, delivery bike riders, workers, and abra riders. Additionally, 5,000 people participated in activities tailored for metro station users. The Ramadan Rations initiative, aligned with Zayed Humanitarian Day, aimed at supporting low-income families, with 1,000 nol cards distributed to assist them during the holy month,” Al Ali continued.

Reflecting on volunteering, Al Ali remarked: “RTA has fostered a culture of volunteering in the community by engaging over 350 volunteers from various affiliated sectors and agencies. The volunteers contributed to community initiatives, providing more than 1,500 volunteer hours during Ramadan, which reflects RTA's commitment to promoting the values of giving and enhancing social cohesion.”

RTA implemented its community initiatives in celebration of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr, with activities organised at the Senior Citizens Council of the Community Development Authority. The events included cultural performances, traditional games, and artistic workshops, along with the Eid Joy initiative, where Eid gifts were distributed to attendees at the Etisalat Metro Station. The event also targeted orphans, senior citizens, and people of determination, with participation from RTA's Women Committee and Youth Council. The Eid Joy event included the distribution of gifts to workers in collaboration with various organisations, including the Community Development Authority, Keolis-MHI, Dar Al Hay Tailoring, Twigs Flower House, Hind Al Oud, Khaltat, and Toys "R" Us.

RTA concluded its community activities during the last week of Ramadan, coinciding with UAE Reads. It organised interactive workshops for employees' children in collaboration with the Huawei Community, featuring reading and writing sessions. Copies of Salama Magazine were also distributed to participating children as part of its support for national initiatives and promotion of reading.
